Coming in from the East from the four corners. Thinking about chilling along lake powell. What is the best route into Grand Staircase Escalate and what are some good camp grounds, driving and hiking trials. The more interesting geology the better!

Look into Vermillion Cliffs National Monument as well!
There are a few nice spots along 89 between Page and Kanab. Depending on how much time you have and if you can get a permit, Coyote Buttes, the Wave, Buckskin Gulch, Paria Canyon, Wire Pass canyon, and the Toadstools are among the many short to long hikes available. I believe there is also horseback riding nearby. A short drive south of the Wire Pass is the State Line campground. Last I checked it was free.
Johnson Canyon Road will give access to a whole bunch more places north of 89.
