“I love my boat. i love anything about my boat, or anything having to do with my boat. My wife on the other hand likes going out sometimes but doesnt want everything to revolve around the boat. like for instance, we are going to nags head in july and have a house on a canal with a dock and slip. my first idea is bring the boat and go fishing. i would love to have it sitting right outside the door and be able to go whenever i choose. well she doesnt want to take it, she says it will just be to much to deal with. I need some ideas to get her more involved and more excited about boating and want to go out more. All we do now is tow to the yacht club, put in, go to the sand bar, hang out all day, then back home, occasionaly ride around for no more than 30min. i am getting alittle bored with it my self, but need to find something else to do. any ideas????” – fishingman220 (www.iboats.com)

Fishingman220, look at the reason why you like boating so much. Were you raised behind a boat? I feel I was. Did you have good childhood experiences? Maybe being with family or participating in a sport, i.e. fishing, wakeboarding, tubing, skiing, knee boarding, or just enjoying those scenic drives. After all, if she doesn’t like it all the time, maybe you could have “The Boat Talk” 😉 (Just kidding).
I personally have many, many fond memories boating. That’s why I created the www.utahboatinginfo.com site. I wanted others to be able to create memories like I did. I think I would recommend finding her passions in life and try your best to make the bridge between the two (her passions and boating). Like if she’s sporty, maybe she’ll like wakeboarding. If she like socializing, bring other people. Does she like a bit of suspense? Blind fold her and take her to a part of the lake that she’s never been and have dinner. Have fun boating and taking pictures of the scenery with a disposable camera. Make memories. Just do your best to make her time with you and the boat quality time. Time that she will value and cherish for years to come. :)

Happy Boating!
